Rafes Urban Astronomy Center is closed for Winter Break. We will not be having Public Star Parties in the month of January as we will be working on some renovations to our observatory. We tentatively plan to re-open in February but will keep you updated here and on our social media.

Please feel free to continue to request Private Star Parties we will answer these request when we return to the office on 1/3/2022.

Public and Private Star Parties!

Star parties occur on the first and third saturday of every month.

Rafes Urban Astronomy Center

The Rafes Urban Astronomy Center opened its gates on October 3, 2007 and now houses observatory facilities for public outreach and the UNT Astronomy program's observatory labs.

Monroe Remote Observatory

The Monroe Remote Observatory is a remote facility which serves as the primary research center for Astronomy Faculty and Graduate students.
